At the beginning of the work day flexible carpools drive to the destination area and stop at (or near) a designated drop-off point. This point will have been chosen based on the work-places of most of the members for that route. The drop-off point is probably not signposted, after all it is just a place that people get dropped off.
At the end of the work day riders walk to a pick-up point that will have been chosen for its convenience to the work-places and also for the traffic flows. The pick-up point is a time restricted no-parking zone, with 'Rideshare Stop' signs. Drivers drive to the pick-up point. See example graphic above.
In order to get these signs put up, the local traffic authorities have to have agreed that this is a good place (safe for people to stop, safe for getting back into the traffic).
In some cases there will be a pick-up point close to home to take people to the flexible carpool park at the beginning of the work day. These will also have Rideshare Stop signs.
