When approved for membership each member will receive a membership card and a car-tag.

The membership card can only be activated by the person to whom it has been issued. This security feature is achieved using fingerprint recognition technology. Members activate their membership card by squeezing it as they get into the car.

When it is activated, the membership card sends out an infrared signal (like your TV remote).

The signal from the membership card is picked up by the car-tag and stored for up to four hours.

On arriving at, or departing from the flexible carpooling park the car tag is triggered by an infrared beam.

When triggered the car-tag sends out a radio frequency message to a reader, telling the reader the ID of the car and each member in the car.

The reader sends this information to a computer, which checks the database and sends a message to a display board showing the system names of the people in the car.

The same information is sent to the internet for processing the ride credits, and paying any fees, or claiming any incentives.
